Urumi has won lots of accolades at Fifth edition of Asiavision Annual Malayalam Movie Awards (AAMMA), the largest South Indian entertainment show outside the subcontinent. Genelia has won herself the best actress and Urumi has been selected as the Best movie so far. Prabhu Deva also has won himself an award for his role in Urumi.
Declaring the winners of this year’s AAMMA awards at a press conference Nissar Sayed, managing director of Dubai-based Asiavision Advertising said, “Movies released between Oct 15, 2010 and Oct 31, 2011 had been presented for online voting to the audience living across the globe. The highest number of votes has been scored from the UAE and other Gulf countries, while Malayalam movie fans living in their native State and expatriates from European countries and the US have also cast a significant number of votes online.”
“Just in few years after its inception in 2007, the Asiavision awards programme has bolstered its position as the largest South Indian award night and entertainment show outside the subcontinent,” Nissar concluded.
These awards will be staged with a mix of film stars, musicians and dancers at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Nov 25, organisers said. Above 35,000 expatriate fans of the South Indian movie and music industry are expected to flock to the international venue to have a glimpse of their favourite stars and celebrities landing in the UAE to entertain their buffs at the awards ceremony, which is the 10th show in the Asiavision entertainment award series.
