Following a meeting of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists), Kerala Strikers, the Mollywood celebrity cricket team has decided to change its name to 'AMMA's Kerala Strikers.
'The new logo too will be released soon, which will have AMMA's logo along with the original. "The celebrity cricket team has been an initiative of AMMA right from the beginning. About 20 per cent of the profits will go to AMMA. Any charity matches, which will be held afterwards, will be under the auspices of AMMA," said Idavela Babu, secretary, AMMA.
Kerala Strikers is owned by Mohanlal, Lizzy Priyadarsan and P M Shaji,a Chennai-based businessman. Indrajith, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Bineesh Kodiyeri and many others form the team, captained by Mohanlal. The official launch of the jersey was held last month by Mammootty at Kochi. The first match will be held at Sharjah in January. The Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kochi, will witness a match in the last week of January.
