SYNOPSIS / REVIEW

Malayalam cinema’s young heartthrob Prithviraj plays a Delhi-based prison doctor who accedes to the dying wish of his patient, a member of a terrorist squad. Her wish is that he unites her five-year-old son with his father whom he has never seen. The trouble is that the father is the leader of a dreaded Indian Jihadi terrorist group.

The doctor collects the boy from the southern state of Kerala and begins an arduous pan-Indian journey to track down the elusive terrorist. The doctor’s quest is all the more poignant and noble because his own wife and child were killed in a terrorist attack.

Alongside breathtaking imagery showcasing India’s natural beauty from the lush backwaters of Kerala to the arid zones of Rajasthan and the stunning grandeur of the Himalayas, the film is also a sensitive look at the touchy issue of terrorism and its impact.

Spicy YouTube Video on Prithviraj and Wife may I

KOCHI:Yet another online creation may soon attract legal trouble. Very soon the cyber police in the state could very well zero in on a widelycirculated link on the net 'Prithvirajappan,' a video posted in the YouTube.

The 10.23minute video, which is a take on a recent interview of actor Prithviraj and his wife on a TV channel, has been modified as a new product adding bits and pieces from various films. The whole video is presented as an attempt to counter the opinions and arguments put forth by the actor during the original interview. The product has been made spicy with background score and snippets of advice. Since the same video strip has been uploaded by different persons, it is difficult to find out who is the original author. The video is becoming widely popular as the link uploaded by 'bachuvivek' has so far got 67,823 views in the past four days. Another one uploaded by 'rushkuttan' on June 20 has got 398 views so far.State police Hitech Cell Assistant Commissioner N Vinaya Kumaran Nair said so far they have not received any complaint in this regard. "If there is a complaint, it would be reviewed whether action should be taken under the IT Act," he said. Francis Pereira, SI, Cyber Cell with the Kochi police, too said so far no complaints have been filed in this regard.

Amala not in Indian Rupee

Mynaa fame Amala Paul, who debuted in films through Lal Jose's critically acclaimed Neelathamara, has denied rumours that she will be the heroine in writer-director-producer Ranjith’s Indian Rupee, starring Prithviraj in the lead.

The actress however confirmed that she was offered the lead role, but had to refuse since the makers wanted immediate dates in July, which would result in date clashes with her other film Muppozhudhum Un Karpanai. The actress also said that she loves to do Malayalam films, but right now her priorities are in Tamil.

Prithviraj and Indrajith to inaugurate a beauty parlor at Dubai

Doha Beauty Center will open its seventh outlet – Lady Inn – at Lulu Gharaffa on June 27.

Two icons from the south Indian film industry, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Indrajith Sukumaran, will inaugurate the beauty centre at 7pm on the day. Their wives Supriya Prithviraj and Poornima Indrajith, and mum Mallika Sukumaran, will be at the event.

“The new venture is a part of our continuous efforts to bring the best quality services nearer to our ever-increasing clientele,” Sheela Philip, beauty therapist and Shahnaz Hussain’s exclusive franchisee in Doha, said.

Indian Rupee starts rolling

Writer, director and producer Ranjith has started the shoot of his new film Indian Rupee.

The film is being made by hero Prithviraj and his August Cinema in association with Ranjith's Capitol Theatre.

Now the latest we hear is that Suresh Gopi has been roped in to the production, to make it commercially more viable.

Ranjith has never directed Suresh Gopi in any film so far, other than writing the script of his Summer in Bethlehem which was directed by Sibi Malayil.

Indian Rupee is said to be an all-out action packed film which will also have Thilakan playing a key role.

Amala Paul is the heroine and the film will also have Innocent and Nedumudi Venu in the supporting cast.

Cinematography would be by S Kumar and the music would be composed by new guy Shahbaz Aman.

Indian Rupee would be jointly produced by August Cinema and Capitol Theatre. The shoot of the film will start in Kozhikode in the first week of June.

Amala Paul in 'Indian rupee'

Director Renjith who had given career best roles to actors like Priya Mani, Revathy and Navya Nair will offer Amala Paul, another meaty role through his new movie 'Indian rupee'. The actress who shot to fame with the recent Tamil hit 'Mynah' will be paired opposite Prithviraj for this movie, which will be another classy affair from Renjith.

Amala, a malayalee from Ernakulam, had earlier been in Mollywood films like 'Neelathamara' and 'Ithu Nammude Katha', but in insignificant roles. The actress will be seen in big Tamil films of 2011 like 'Daivathirumagan' opposite Vikram and 'Vettai' opposite Madavan and Arya.
